  2. Jess Williams says:

Superb guide. A tip on getting cash in India – Some ATMs charge low fees and some high fees – I used the the ATM Fee Saver mobile app – it gave a list of such fee-free and low-fee ATMs in India along with withdrawal limits for foreign card holders. Quite a life saviour! Worth adding to your list!

In India our mobile phone are our card…I have not used any card since last 3-4 years.. just scan n pay through ur phone…everywhere in India even a small vegetable shop u can pay through UPI…cash we donot carry.. it is completely digitalized… more than 8m users are on upi

6:40 so because meat is scarce, protein in diets is scarce? ???? You may know a lot about India but you know absolutely nothing about where protein actually comes from. ???? Start by checking how much meat is in those protein bars…

  5. Trish Scobell says:

How much should we withdraw for two people for one week just for gifts/souvenirs?
We are going with a tour so all food and hotels, entrance fees etc are already included.
And should we withdraw cash from the airport when we arrive?

  6. Patrícia Oda says:

Hey! Tks for the vídeo! Lots of good insights!

There's one thing on my mind, though: you've mentioned protein bars – can this be taken in the carry on luggage? I'll be traveling only with my backpack and it would be nice if I can take protein bars with me!

  7. rextro says:

One thing that I would like to correct is that there are absolutely no dodgy ATMs in India. The card swallowing ones that you are talking about are the old models. They give you the card back right afte the transaction. Many ATMs are out of cash nowadays because of electronic payment methods like UPI. India is becoming increasingly more and more cashless. Foreigners can also get an UPI account activated. There is a kiosk at Delhi airport arrivals.

  8. rextro says:

You guys strike me as the mountain kinda people, especially because you don't come from a place with such geography. If that's true, you should explore the entire Himalayan range of India and Nepal. Bhutan too if you can afford it.

  9. Ivan Dimitrov says:

Please, be extremely vigilant about unknown people that you have never know wanting to bring you at their home as it could have extremely unfortunate consequences, especially for a young western woman. Sorry about such a message but wanted to alert. Cheers

  10. Potbury Family says:

Hi Rhett and Claire – really enjoyed your videos and we are off to india next month. I have down loaded Ease my Trip but I can’t seem to book any train tickets . Did you use this App before you arrived in India? Maybe I’m too long in advance ( 6 weeks? ) Thanks

  11. Foodie Agra says:

3:36 UPDATE: Now you can use a cashless way to transact in most of the parts in India its called UPI(Unified Payment Interface) when you land at the airport, give your currency at counter and you will get that money in a digital wallet on your mobile, and you can pay anyone by just scanning recivers QR Code or just by entering recipient's mobile number.

  12. Isabelle Zablocki says:

Wonderful and useful video. Thanks. In terms of proteins, look up vegan athletes and vegan bodybuilders. Protein are plenty in plants.
If you love the cows in India, don't eat beef nor dairy products as this sends them to the slaughterhouse. India is the second biggest exporter of beef in the world mainly because of dairy consumption there. Dairy cows are killed still young and male baby cows are killed very quickly. What did you think happen to male calves?
